380 toys were donated and $474.17 was raised at the Sweetwater Goodfellows annual toy drive on Saturday held at Wal-Mart. Shown are Norma DeLaO and Roger DeLaCruz donating toys at the drive. Those donating received free hot dogs and hot chocolate. There are still opportunities to donate to the Sweetwater Goodfellows, as they are still taking donations of new, unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Distribution will take place from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, at Lamar Street Baptist Church. The annual Christmas party will follow from 3:45-4:45 p.m. on that day. For those who would like to help, donation boxes for toys and food are located at KXOX, First Financial Bank, Nolan County Courthouse, Higginbotham (Radio Shack), Sweetwater TA Travel Center, Sweetwater Reporter, Oak Street Salon, SLJ Embroidery and Gifts, Texas State Technical College, County-City Library and all Sweetwater schools. Those who would like to make a monetary donation may send it to Sweetwater Goodfellows P.O. Box 1148 Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
