Account set up for victim of house fire

December 27, 2013

Several upcoming fundraisers have been planned for local resident Sheila Williams, who recently lost her house in a fire in mid-December.
One of the fundraisers will be held in Big Spring, while two benefits are scheduled to take place in Abilene.
Since the incident, Williams has been able to stay at a local hotel with her granddaughter, as she is the sole caretaker of the 21-month old girl. There was no insurance on the house, which was considered a total loss.
According to responders of the fire, the power had been turned off at the house. Thus, candles were burning in the house.
At this time, an account has been set up in Williams' name at Texas National Bank. She is also working on finding a new, permanent place to live with her granddaughter.
