Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Gonzalez, Sr., 35, of Roscoe, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Roscoe with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Gonzalez died Sunday, March 20, 2011, in Sweetwater.
He was born July 25, 1975, in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico. He was married to Enedina Ibarra and was a member of St. Albert’s Catholic Church. He worked for Sweetwater Steel as a loader for two-and-a-half years and farmed in the previous years. He had lived in Roscoe since 1982 and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan.
Survivors include his wife, Enedina Gonzalez of Roscoe; daughters, Anna Bell Renee Gonzalez, Denali Gonzalez, Lupe Gonzalez, Victoria Gonzalez and Mayra Gonzalez, all of Roscoe; step son, Gabriel Gonzalez of Roscoe; father, Roberto Gonzalez of Roscoe; brother, Juan Antonio Gonzalez of Roscoe; sister, Adriana Gonzalez of Kyle; maternal grandfather, Esteban Torres of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico; paternal grandfather, Vicente Gonzalez of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Albert, Jr. on Jan. 1, 1999; his mother, Maria on July 21, 2008; and both of his grandmothers.
Pallbearers will be Edward Acebedo, Marshall Saenz, Jackie Alvarez, Ralph Cuellar, Manuel Martinez, Jose Gonzalez and Cornelio Cruz.
