Highland’s Sierra Allen was named the “Sixth Man” on the Abilene Reporter-News’ All-Big Country girls basketball Super Team that was announced Sunday.

Highland’s Sierra Allen was named the “Sixth Man” on the Abilene Reporter-News’ All-Big Country girls basketball Super Team that was announced Sunday.
Allen led Highland to its first-ever girls appearance in the state tournament be-fore losing to No. 1 Saltillo in the semifinals. The 6-1 junior post averaged 19.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and two blocks a game and shot 53 percent from the field, and was District 13-1A, Division II’s MVP.
Allen also made the All-Big Country girls first team for Class 1A, Division II and her sister, Hannah Allen, earned honorable mention as did another Highland player, Beth Richburg, and Faith Boren of Roscoe. Highland’s Shea Baucom was Class 1A, D-II girls coach of the year. Receiving All-Big Country honors in Class 3A for Sweetwater were Kaleb Hoover on the 3A-5A boys first team, and Dylan Bennett, who received honorable mention.
