A pair of Sweetwater High School football players were honored on Sunday with All-Big Country Super Team recognition by the Abilene Reporter-News.
Wide receiver Bray Amos was named to the first team, while Daven Alvarez was named to the second team as a defensive lineman.
Amos, a 5-6, 160-pound junior, caught 64 passes for 1,037 yards and 19 touch-downs. He also rushed for 106 yards and three TDs on just 12 carries. Alvarez, a 6-0, 170-pound senior, had 91 tackles (30 solo), six tackles for a loss, four sacks and two pass breakups.
Both were named to the All-Big Country Super Team for the first time this year. Amos had previously earned his second straight selection to the Class 3A All-Big Country team.
Amos and Alvarez made the 3A All-Big Country first team. Seven other Sweet-water players were also recognized in 3A, as were nine area players to the 1A or Six-Man teams, including Roscoe receiver Shelton Toliver (1A) and Highland defensive lineman Gaga Soedarsono (Six-Man) to the first team.
