Funeral services for Amy Dianne Teague Rainey, 37, of Trent, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Ronnie Freeman and Rev. Ward Hayes officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Sweetwater Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, until service time at McCoy Funeral Home.
Rainey died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in Sweetwater.
She was born March 3, 1973. She was married to James E. Rainey. Amy was a member of First Baptist Church of Trent and had attended Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater when she was young and was very active with youth activities there. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and was active with the yearbook staff. She received her Pharmacy Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State. She worked for K-Mart, Maloney Pharmacy, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Staton Drug and most recently at Brookshire's Pharmacy. She moved to Sweetwater from Marathon, Texas in 1986. Amy began and continued the Angel Tree program several years ago for children in Sweetwater, providing gifts for children served by the West Texas Children's Advocacy Center.
Survivors include her son, Jacob Rainey of Trent; her daughter, Marianne Rainey of Trent; her brother, Kirby Teague and wife Stephanie of Chesapeake, Virginia; niece, Anna Teague of Chesapeake, Virginia; nephew, Calvin Teague of Chesapeake, Virginia; aunt, Ella Teague of Lampasas; aunt and uncle, Patsy and Reggie Mayo of Farmers Branch; maternal grandmother, Cecile Ray of Katy; and several other aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marylu Teague on Sept. 30, 1995; her father, Alvis Teague on Feb. 20, 2005. Her husband James Elmer Rainey died on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Davis, Vershel Smith, Don Ware, Toby Foreman, Allen Williams and Michael Dock Carriker.
