Wal-Mart has partnered with the West Texas Children's Advocacy Center (WTCAC) for the 2013 holiday season to provide a way for many children in the area to have a better Christmas.
Amy's Angel Tree at Wal-Mart represents children who have been served by the WTCAC this year. Each angel has a child's gender, age, clothing size and special needs, or a favorite toy or character that the child would like.
The tree is called Amy’s Angel Tree in honor of Amy Rainey, a victim of domestic abuse. Amy first brought the idea of an Angel Tree to the WTCAC 10 years ago. She knew the value of giving during the holiday season.
Clubs, organizations and individuals are invited to choose a child or children to shop for, buy needed items and leave them at designated places at Wal-Mart or bring the unwrapped items to the WTCAC at 317 Oak Street in Sweetwater or 1907 40th Street in Snyder. For more information, call 235-1818 or 573-2800.
