Andrew Joseph Meyerhofer, 84, passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene. Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be noon on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish (Immaculate Heart) with Father Bob Bush officiating, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Bill Butler at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Andrew was Born to Hubert Joseph and Mary Thomasina Meyerhofer on Oct. 24, 1929, in Staceyville, Iowa. He married Loretta Wesolowski on July 22, 1950 in Stayton, Oregon. Andrew was a long time truck driver, logger, saw mill owner, and a jack of all trades. He and Loretta bought many saw mills and operated them together. He loved being in the woods. Andrew also loved to play pranks and jokes on all the people around him. He was always very happy and full of life.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Loretta Meyerhofer; daughter, Rita Cantu and husband Rollie; daughter, Sally Moody; son, Raymond Meyerhofer and wife Mary; brother, David Meyerhofer and wife Joanne; sister, Sharon Frichtl and husband James; grandchildren, Shawn Carnes, Wesley Yates and wife Theresa, Jennifer Buhrman, Cassidy Cantu and Adrianna Cantu; great-grandchildren, Samantha Mitchell, Bryana Mitchell, Jordan Buhrman and Alica Buhrman; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Joseph and Mary Thomasina Meyerhofer; two brothers, James Meyerhofer and Ted Meyerhofer; and son-in-law, Harry Louis Moody.
Pallbearers will be Rollie Cantu, Wesley Yates, Roy Martinez, David Martinez, Raymond Cantu and Eugene Cedillo.
