Arlice Maxine (McFaul) Heffernan, age 88, of Sweetwater, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Ray Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Arlice was born on Oct. 15, 1924, to G.B. and Cleo (Perry) McFaul. She was a lifetime resident of Nolan County. She was an LVN who worked for Simmons Hospital and the nursing homes before retiring. She was a Baptist and a member of American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie Heffernan and wife Vivian of Sweetwater; two granddaughters, Kelly Putnam and husband Bennie of Sweetwater and Jana Michaeliski and husband Kenny of Wisconsin; grandson, Shane Heffernan and wife Beth of Denton; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; and four great-great-grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.B. and Cleo McFaul; husband Otis Heffernan in 1958; son, James Lee Heffernan in 1985; four sisters; two brothers; one nephew; and one great-nephew.
Family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
