Arthur Vernon Sager, Jr., age 87, of Sweetwater, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Okla. with Brother Tim Emmons officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, Okla. Local arrangements by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Arthur was born on Sept. 2, 1926 in Gypsy Corner, Okla. to Arthur Vernon Sager, Sr. and Veda (Flannigan) Sager. He was a Baptist and a United States WWII Veteran. He worked as a drilling superintendent for Parker Drilling Company, Wes Tex Drilling and other companies and was also a realtor that worked in Abilene before retiring.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Bennett and son-in-law, David of Prague, Okla.; two sons, Mark Sager and David Sager and daughter-in-law Carla, all of Sweetwater; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Mendez of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Fay Adams of Shawnee, Okla.; and one brother, Bob Sager of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Jack Sager.
