Bahlman Cleaners launches sixth Coats for Kids

December 9, 2010

Kicking off the sixth annual Coats for Kids drive are Kyle Tubbs, youth minister at Trinity Baptist Church and Ward Hayes, pastor at Trinity Baptist Church, making coat donations to Janice Pridemore, owner of Bahlman Cleaners.

Since 2004, Bahlman Cleaners has collected approximately 1,200 gently worn winter garments for men, women and children who otherwise would be without one, according to owner Janice Pridemore. Bahlman's mission is simple: anyone in the region in need of a coats shall receive one in possible.
When Bahlman's first started the drive in 2004, it brought in 300-350 coats. Bahlman Cleaners' Coats for Kids continues to grow each year, but this year donations are lower than usual. However, the cleaners are seeking help from more and more community partners and hope that the results will be impressive.
Donations of gently worn coats of any size can be dropped off at Bahlman Cleaners, located at 910 E. Third Street in Sweetwater. The coats will be dry cleaned and distributed to those in need in the community.
