BCMRC to meet today

October 14, 2013

Pictured (standing, far right) is Scott Davis, retired United States Air Force and Sweetwater citizen, who taught “Verbal Judo” to members of the Big Country Medical Reserve Corps.
In a natural or man-made disaster where many citizens, especially children are involved, “Verbal Judo” is the means for calming a potentially volatile situation before it can manifest into physical violence. This kind of “conflict management” involves using posture, body language, tone of voice, choice of words and many more examples were given by Mr. Davis.
BCMRC meets the second Monday of each month at Rolling Plains Hospital classroom and invites all citizens to come and learn and be ready to help in a disaster. Call 235-5463 and ask for Ray if interested.
