Graveside services for Betty Rae Langston, 79, of Roscoe, will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Fogleman officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Langston died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder, Texas.
Betty was born Dec. 8, 1932. She married Norvell E. Langston on Sept. 11, 1953, in Roscoe. Betty was born in Roscoe and lived there most of her life and was a graduate of Roscoe High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She had moved to Midland and then Snyder to be close to her children. She graduated from Business School in Abilene with a secretarial degree. She and her husband owned and operated Langston Automotive and the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Roscoe for many years. She had also worked for RS&P Railroad for about 15 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Owens and husband Jay of Snyder and Mary Langston of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Austin Owens of Midland and Reed Owens of Snyder; nephew, Robert McBride and wife Patty of Roscoe; sister-in-law, Anna Mae McBride of Roscoe; and great niece and nephew, Catie and Robert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Floy Alley McBride; her husband, Norvell; and her brother, Lavoye McBride.
