Bicycle rodeo slated for Saturday

June 3, 2014

A Bicycle Safety Rodeo will take place from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, in the south east parking lot at the corner of 4th and Elm. Free helmets will be given as well as a chance to win a bike. Participants are asked to bring their own bicycle as they will not be provided in order for participation. This is a great opportunity for children to be able to learn bicycle safety by riding through obstacle courses. There will also be stations to check the bikes and provide air for tires or replace tubes if necessary. Another station will be set up to fingerprint children. For further information, contact Doug or Brandi Sitter at 235-0018.
The event is sponsored by BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), Big Country Regional Advisory Council, Doug Sitter State Farm Insurance, Kiwanis Club, Big Country Medical Reserve Corp, West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center, Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department, Nolan County Sheriff's Office, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital, Sweetwater Bicycle Club, Sweetwater Fire Department/EMS, Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Organization PTK, TSTC West Texas and TSTC Staff Senate.
