Several bids were received during Monday's Nolan County Commissioners meeting.
Two bids were received for 70,000 tons of grade 3 or 4 crushed rock, while one bid was received for approximately 165,000 gallons of AC5 paving materials and an unspecified amount of MC30. In addition, two bids were received for crushed 1-3/4" minus flex-based road base materials.
However, a decision for the awarding of the bids will be made at a later date so that the commissioners can take time to look over the bids.
Also during the meeting, approval was given for Precincts 3 and 4 to each purchase a laptop from Your Way Tech Team. The laptops each cost $928.99, bringing the total cost to $1857.98.
A road bore and crossing on County Road 116 and County Road 137 was also approved, while a mutual aid agreement was also approved as signatures from all entities had been obtained.
The contract between Nolan County and the Abilene Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Inc. was tabled, however, so that the commissioners could gather more information.
Furthermore, the commissioners approved for the county-wide burn ban to remain in effect for the next two weeks, and the minutes of the March 10 meeting were approved as well.
