Memorial services for Billy Jay Brice, 85, of Sweetwater will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Sweetwater, with Sam Smith officiating.
Brice died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab in Sweetwater.
He was born January 24, 1929 in Wingate, Texas.
Billy moved to Sweetwater in 1952 and was the owner-operator of the Roller-Rama Skating Rink for many years. He had worked for Gee Transfer and Storage, Merchant Fast Motor Lines and was a self employed dirt contractor. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Evangelical Methodist church.
Survivors include his daughters, Terry Sanders and Ronnie Hendrix of Tuscola, and Marilyn DeLaCruz and husband Jeff of Galt, California; sisters, Juanita Bradley of Leander, Texas, Fayrene Henater of Belton, Texas, Odell McGinnis of Mineral Wells, Texas, Oleta Webb of Winters, Texas, and Joyce Weidner of San Angelo, Texas; brothers, Leon Brice of Comance, Texas, and Leslie Brice of San Angelo, Texas; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Shelly (Parker) Brice; his daughter, Nina, in 2006; and one sister and two brothers.
