October 29, 2011

PAINT ROCK — Blackwell was defeated by Paint Rock, 62-12, in a District 8 Six-Man Division II matchup on Friday.
With the win, Paint Rock improved to 2-0 district (7-2 over-all) while dropping Blackwell’s records to 1-1 district, 1-8 season. The Indians are the district’s only unbeaten team and have clinched a playoff berth, while Blackwell must defeat Panther Creek (1-1) at home this Friday to secure a postseason spot.
No individual information was available at press time for Black-well, which was coming off a forfeit victory over Novice in its district opener last week.
The Sweetwater Reporter will print a more complete story when the information is received.
Paint Rock was ahead 40-12 at the end of the first period and then closed the game out by scoring 22 more points to get a mercy rule victory at halftime.
