Blackwell to host 4th of July celebration

Starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 30th, the Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will be holding their annual 4th of July celebration, parade and barbecue.

The Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will be holding their annual 4th of July celebration, parade and barbecue on Saturday, June 30, 2012. A parade will kick off the event at 5 p.m. on Main Street in Blackwell.
At 5:30 p.m., the Blackwell VFD will be selling barbecue brisket and sausage plates with all the trimmings at their station located on Main Street. Plates are $10 for adults and $5 for children, with all proceeds benefitting the Blackwell VFD.
Starting at 9 p.m., a dance will be held at the AMA/Techtel Pavilion, located at the Blackwell Riding Arena. Music will be provided by the "Tejas Brothers". The dance is hosted by the Blackwell Riding Club with a $10 cover charge and is BYOB.
Guests are also asked to bring their own lawn chairs. All proceeds from the dance will benefit the Blackwell Riding Club, a non-profit organization.
