Review of Blackwell varsity football game

Jayden Jones rushed for 268 yards and scored four touchdowns, one on a fumble return, for Blackwell on Friday but the Hornets were unable to hold a 10-point lead after three periods as they lost to Trent, 50-44.
Blackwell was outscored 16-0 in the fourth quarter as it fell to 2-2. Trent is 4-0.
In addition to Jones’ run-ning, Ethan Andrews threw for 58 yards and Franck Cano (3), Ted Chambliss (2), Mark Monroe and Jones had receptions. Jones had two fumble recoveries and Cano and Wade Allen one.
Tackle leaders were Mark Monroe with 16 — including 12 which were solo — and Cano and Kaleb Edwards each with 14. Cano had nine solos and Edwards seven.
Cano also had two rush-ing touchdowns for Black-well in the contest.
Jones gave Blackwell a 44-34 lead with his fourth touchdown in the third quarter, followed by Trustan Cox with a PAT, but the host Gorillas came back with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The game-winner came on a 6-yard run followed by an extra point kick that came with 4:23 left.
Blackwell will entertain Blanket this Friday to begin a two-week homestand.
