Critical need for all blood types

The Meek Blood Center bloodmobile will be in the First Financial Bank parking lot on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 12-6 p.m. There is a critical need for all blood types.
"The weather, the holidays and illness have resulted in fewer donors," said Frances Baker, donor recruiter.
"At the same time, most of the hospitals we serve are at full capacity and the need for blood is constant," Baker continued. Meek Blood Center supplies all of the blood used for patient care at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Meek Blood Center will resume the bloodmobile location at the Lion's Club building once construction is completed on Lamar Street.
Changes have been made to streamline the screening process and some previous restrictions regarding medical conditions and medications have been lifted. Those who have eligibility questions can speak with the Meek Blood Center supervisor at 325-670-2880.
Each donor will receive a long sleeve T-shirt and a complimentary total cholesterol test.
