The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 37 calls for service, issued no citations and made one arrest on Jan. 23, 2012.

The SPD received eight, 911 calls.

Calls for service:
• Unauthorized use of a vehicle — 1600 block of Grand.
• Fraud — 200 block of E. Fourth.
• Information only — 200 block of E. Fourth.
• Information only — 700 block of SW Georgia.
• Theft — 900 block of Lamar.
• Family violence assault — 200 block of Jenny George.
• Runaway — 1200 block of Towncreek.
• Criminal mischief — 1700 block of Hailey.

Arrested by SPD:
• Kenneth Speed, 29 — Possession of controlled substance.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had four calls for service, served three civil papers and made one arrest on Jan. 23, 2012.

Arrested by DPS:
• Benito Lee Perez, 32, of Sweetwater — Driving while license invalid.

Calls for service:
• Traffic hazard — I-20 MM 253 west bound.
• Suspicious incident — N. Plano, Blackwell.
• Reckless driver — I-20 MM 251 east bound.
• Welfare concern — I-20.

The Sweetwater Fire Department responded to three ambulance calls and three fire calls on Jan. 23.
• Two ambulance calls in the city of Sweetwater.
• Two fire calls in the city of Sweetwater.
• One ambulance call in the County.
• One fire call in the County.
