The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 55 calls for service, issued seven citations and made two arrests on May 8, 2012.

The SPD received 20, 911 calls.

Calls for service:
• Family violence assault — Sweetwater.
• Burglary of a building — 500 block of E. Avenue A.
• Theft — 1000 block of W. 8th.
• Theft — 400 block of NE Georgia.

Arrested by SPD:
• Ashley Runnels, 30 — Possession of a controlled substance.
• Justin Logston, 31 — Possession of a controlled substance.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had five calls for service, served four civil papers and made three arrests on May 8, 2012.

Arrested by NCSO:
• John Adam Hernandez, Jr., 28, of Abilene — Driving while license invalid with previous conviction or suspension.

Arrested by DPS:
• Danny Jay Morrell, 49, of Odessa — Driving while intoxicated, second offense.
• Zachary Taylor Mills, 20, of Levelland — Possession of dangerous drug (synthetic marijuana) and driving while license invalid.

Calls for service:
• Vehicle accident — I-20 MM 234 median.
• Traffic hazard — Bluebonnet Road.
• Reckless driver — I-20 MM 230 east bound.
• Information only — Lake Trammell.
• Reckless driver — I-20 MM 251 west bound.
