Blown out tire causes Nolan County fire

A fire occured on Highway 70, south of CR 153 on Burwick Ranch around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday
Sweetwater firefighters, along with help from the Nolan Volunteer Fire Department, Maryneal Volunteer Fire Department and the Texas Forrest Service, extinguished a fire along Highway 70, just south of CR 153 on the Burwick Ranch, beginning at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The fire burned less than 100 acres and took 5-6 hours to extinguish. The fire was thought to be caused by a truck pulling a trailer with a blown out tire, according to Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden.
