Blown transformer causes large fire

Many entities have been battling a blaze on the 69 Ranch near Maryneal since Friday. The cause of the grass fire was said to have been a blown transformer and volunteer firefighters have stated that the fire has been hard to access, with part being in a ravine and also burning on two sides of a nearby railroad track. Shown in the photos is a train trestle bridge burning. Entities involved have included Maryneal Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), Roscoe VFD, Sweetwater FD, Lake Sweetwater VFD, Blackwelll VFD, Nolan VFD, Loraine VFD, Colorado City FD, Snyder FD, Mulberry Canyon VFD, Nolan County Sheriff’s Department, Nolan County Commissioners and the Texas Forest Service.
