Bob E. Lively, age 74, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 5, 1937, to Ruth Collins Lively and Houston Lively of Dilley, Texas. A memorial service celebrating Bobâ€™s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1506 Santa Fe Street in Sweetwater, Texas with Rev. Ward Hayes presiding. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bob attended Dilley High School and subsequently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1959 with a degree in International Business. Following his college graduation, Bob served a two-year term with the United States Navy stationed in California. Following his discharge from the Navy, Bob explored several career options before following his heart and returning to Dilley to work with his father in the cattle industry. During this time he was also given the opportunity to begin a banking career when he accepted a position at Dilley State Bank. Eventually, this experience led him to being named President of Frontier National Bank in Round Rock, Texas. Following the death of his father in 1989, Bob returned to Dilley to be closer to his mother and to start a career in real estate. Bob married Marsha Lett Hines in Dilley in 1990 and they spent the next 13 years enjoying their lives in South Texas. Following the death of his mother in 2003, Bob and Marsha moved to Sweetwater where he continued to pursue a real estate career through his association with Morgan Real Estate.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Lively and Ruth Lively and his brother, Bill Lively.
He leaves behind a large and loving family that includes his wife, Marsha Hines Lively of Sweetwater; daughter, Carroll Lively Reeser and husband Mike Reeser of Waco, Texas; son, Mark Lively of Concord, North Carolina; daughter, Nancy Lively Small and husband John Small of Doha, Qatar; son, Jerry Hines and wife, Jodie Hines of Calgery, Alberta, Canada; granddaughters, Katie Reeser, Melissa Lively, Hannah Small and Lauren Reeser Jones; grandsons Matthew Reeser, Hank Small, Jack Small, Benjamin Hines and Cory Hines, Joe Reeser; and his faithful and loving dog, Ginger.
