Bobbie Lucille (Davenport) Strother

Funeral services for Bobbie Lucille (Davenport) Strother, 82, of Roscoe will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Roscoe. Rev. Adam Davis will officiate and interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Strother died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born June 8, 1931 in Roscoe. She married D.C. Strother on July 20, 1947, in Breckenridge.
Bobbie was a lifelong resident of Roscoe and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Roscoe High School. Bobbie was a past member of the Sweetwater Elks Lodge #1257 BPO Does and the Roscoe American Legion Post #227 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a bookkeeper and sales lady and had worked for Don Lambert Wholesale Lumber Co, Anthony’s Department Store and she and her husband D.C. owned and operated D.C.’s Trailer Sales.
Survivors include her son, Phil Strother of Roscoe; grandchildren, Chase Strother of Lubbock, Sharon Froman of Pawnee, Illinois and Shane Sennett of Havana, Illinois; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her cousin, Linda Strother of Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her husband D.C. on Nov. 17, 2007; son, Ricky Lynn Strother on June 3, 1973; a grandson, Jacob Strother; her sister, Lillie B. Miller; and her parents, Robert S. and Mary L. (Beck) Davenport.
Pallbearers will be Phil Strother, Chase Strother, Teddy Head, Steve Hagerman and Tommy LeCroy.
