The Nolan County Commissioners met for their regular meeting on Monday morning, July 23, 2012 at the Nolan County Courthouse.
Among the action items presented, approval was given toward the renewal of their health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) for 2012-2013. Tommy Morris and Nancy Johnson with the company discussed the various rates and credits from the health, dental and life policies.
While the company annually reports on renewal news, they also offer daily service to their clients. Commissioner Tony Lara praised the company for their strong customer service anytime BCBS has been contacted on any issue.
In addition, a resolution was approved which authorizes a county grant for a home-delivered meal program. The county will contribute $779.50 for a year to assist the city's program.
Furthermore, the commissioners approved to receive the certificates of completion from County Clerk Pat McGowan and County Auditor Judy Kaspar for their Texas DPS (Department of Public Safety) mandatory, non-criminal justice CHRI training program.
Also received and approved were the reports from the Nolan County Treasurer, Veteran's Service Officer, Tax Office, Auditor, Clerk and the Government Trapper.
The burn ban for Nolan County was also approved to remain in effect until the next meeting date, and the minutes from the July 9 meeting were approved as well.
The commissioners, however, withdrew an item from the agenda--the approval of an interlocal agreement with Sweetwater ISD (Independent School District) to seal-coat the parking lots at the middle and high schools. Additionally, no action was taken on the budget workshop for the 2012-2013 budget year.
