Candles lit at time of remembrance

The West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center (WTCAC) and High Sky Children's Ranch once again partnered to sponsor the Eighth Annual Family FunFair on Wednesday at the Nolan County Coliseum.
Many families, totaling about 400 people in attendance, enjoyed games and prizes from 27 agencies and food donated by the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club at the event.
The highlight of the event was the Time of Remembrance for child abuse victims. Local community leaders including District Attorney Ann Reed and local pastor Jeramy Thompson spoke at this event declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. 
There was also a group of small children’s chairs with eight candles representing the eight children who have died as a result of child abuse in our area in the last five years. Shown lighting the candles were sisters Sonya Sanchez and Marissa Sanchez.
