Stephenville — Services for Carl E. Ryden, 75, pharmaceutical cattle sales representative, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at The First Baptist Church, Stephenville, with Rev. Richard Grant officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Carl was born in Georgetown, Texas on July 21, 1938, to Milton G. and Merle (Beaver) Ryden. He married Carolyn Ann Ryan on June 24, 1961, on the Texas A&M Campus. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2001.
Carl was a member of The First Baptist Church, Stephenville and The Gideon’s International and The Old Goats Club. He attended Florence Public Schools and John Tarleton Agricultural Junior College. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961 and received his Master’s Degree in Agriculture from Tarleton State University in 1977.
Survivors include his three sons, Clay Ryden of Stephenville, Tod Ryden and wife, Elaine, of Sweetwater and Michael Ryden of Stephenville; two sisters, Emma Duncan of Florence and Gayle Haney and husband, Bruce, of Stephenville; two grandsons, Zachary Ryden and wife, Jessica, of Stephenville and Mason Garrett Ryden of Brownwood; two brothers-in-law, Richard Grant of San Antonio and Amon Clyde Ryan of Georgetown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lee Grant; one daughter in-law, Brenda Cupit Ryden on Feb. 21, 2001; and brother-in-law, L.C. Duncan.
The family would like to thank the care givers Pam Morgan, Elena Burns, Debra Purcell, Jeanna Groves, Shantae Douglas and Lola Douglas.
