Graveside services for Carl Wayne Tyler, 75, of Abilene, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at Sweetwater Cemetery. Robert Murphy will officiate with interment to follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Tyler died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born Oct. 28, 1937 in Sweetwater. He married Clara Tyson on Nov. 11, 1958 in Sweetwater.
Carl loved playing music. He played in bands for a few years. He played for senior citizen dances and at nursing homes. He loved his family very much, and his two dogs, Bubbles and GiGi.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Tyler of Abilene; sons, Kelton Tyler and wife Ramona of Abilene and Carl Tyler, Jr. of Sweetwater; daughters, Charlene Murphy and husband Ray of Sweetwater and Teresa Johnson and husband Rocky of Brady; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Lela Bell Millagan and husband Mike of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Floyd Tyler and wife Barbara of Odessa; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tyler of Houston and Becky Green of Abilene; brother-in-law, Joe Ford of Quilin, Texas; and mother-in-law, Ann Tyson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers are Toby Toland, Justin Tyler, Joshua Murphy, Brian Murphy, Rocky Johnson, Jr., and Bryson Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Murphy and Brandon Murphy.
