Carlos Salazar Sr., 72, of Sweetwater, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 in Sweetwater. Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Gonzalo Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
He was born on June 11, 1942, in Delicious, Chihuahua. He married Amelia Archuleta on Nov. 16, 1976, in Guadalupe, Mexico.
He was a member of Iglesia Christian Espiritual Church. He worked at Eagle Railcar as a welder for 25 years. He lived in Sweetwater for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia Salazar; his sons and daughters, Marylu Salazar, Reynaldo Salazar, Letty Garcia, Carlos Salazar, Jr., Gilberto Salazar, Salvador Salazar, Ciria Castillo, Noemi De La Rosa and Caesar Salazar; grandchildren, Jaime Trejo, Lilly Rodriguez, Varessa Holguin, Reynaldo James, Jr., Amanda James, Daniel Herrera, Anthony Chavira, Troy Chavira, Sabrina Chavira, Alex Garcia, Brittany Salazar, Bryanna Salazar, Sebastian Salazar, Kerrie Salazar, Matthew Salazar, Danielle, Amanda, Anyssa, Adela, Salvador, Jr., Kendall Salazar, Samantha Salazar, Jose, Eli, Carlos, Ismael, Oscar, Emilio, Gabrriella, Gabriel Castillo, Adrian Alvarez, Mateo, Diego, Julian Castillo, Andrew, Analeigh De La Rosa, Chasiddy Salazar; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Reynaldo James, Jr., Daniel Herrera, Jaime Trejo, Sebastian Salazar, Matthew Salazar, Jose Castillo, Adrian Alvarez, Salvador Salazar and Eli Castillo.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, from 4-8 p.m.
