Funeral services for Cassidy Crain, 39, of Sweetwater, will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Dale Stowe officiating. Interment will follow at Nolan Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Crain died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Fisher County. He was born Nov. 2, 1974, in Sweetwater. He was a member of Word of God Church, member of the Community Captains, loved playing guitar, loved BBQ and listening to music. He worked in construction. Cassidy loved his family. He loved the Austin area and rivers in that area.
Survivors include his wife, Jamie Briscoe of Sweetwater; son, Josiah Crain of Sweetwater; daughters, Heather Crain, Caelyn Crain and Carlee Crain; sisters, Melissa Guiterrez and husband Anthony of Sweetwater and Brooklyn Crain and Tony Palma of Sweetwater; father, Guadalupe Ortega of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, LaJane Crain.
Pallbearers will be Billy Guelker, Bleu Reyes, Joshua Simmons, Scott Lawhon, Eddie Torres and Anthony Gutierrez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Coe, Wesley Coe, Terry Davis, Steve Carson, Alen Chance, Mitch Moore and Shane Heffernan.
