Final round coverage from the Region I-3A boys golf tournament

Sweetwater’s Alex Castillo shot an 86 in Tuesday’s final round of the Region I-3A boys golf tournament to finish the event with a two-day score of 173.
Castillo was making his first regional golf appear-ance and played as a med-alist at Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo.
He was 26 shots off the winning two-day total of 147 carded by Taylor Grant of Wylie.
Andrews (320-640) won team honors by an eight-shot margin over Big Spring, which shot 318 on Tuesday to finish at 648. Both teams will advance to the state tournament in Austin, as will medalists Grant and Levelland’s Zane Stafford. Stafford advanced after winning a three-way playoff for No. 2 medalist.
