CC runners at regionals

Three area teams and runners from Sweetwater, Roscoe, Highland and Blackwell competed in regional cross country meets that were held on Monday. Sweetwater and Roscoe athletes went to Lubbock for their meets held at Mae Simmons Park, while Blackwell and Highland went to San Angelo. None of the runners qualified to go to state competition.
The top individual finishes were by runners from Blackwell at the Region II-1A meet in San Angelo.
Kiley Cummings was 21st (13:46.71), Vickie Davis 22nd (13:47.98) and Madison Solis 23rd (13:50.29). Also running for Blackwell, which was seventh in the team standings, were Cirstyn Gober, who placed 96th (15:42.89); Emilee Sanderson, 102nd (15:53.99); and Tori Scott, 131st (16:35.51).
Highland’s girls were 15th and the boys placed 21st in the team standings at their regional competition.
Individually for Highland, Maggie Bowen placed 47th (14:29.35); Zoe Cornett was 74th (15:01.38); Kenady Hall was 76th (15:03.51); Grayson Chapman 111th (16:07.17); Kamri Carper was 121st (16:18.76); Kendra Baucom 141st (17:16.86); and Heather Monroe was 152nd (18:04.40). The boys runners were Jacob Hamilton, 62nd (20:06.40); Sam Spaulding, who was 110th (21:45.70); Dylan Natha, 138th (23:16.71); Konner Turney, 141st (23:32.56); Hayden Wehba, 160th (27:42.07); and Ethan Peacock, 162nd (28:31.03).
For Roscoe, Alfonzo Islas placed 100th (20:38.46) in the boys race at Lubbock while for the Roscoe girls, Victoria Martinez was 61st (14:24.61) and Riley Sheridan 70th (14:37.10).
Nevaeh Sarabia was 99th for Sweetwater in the girls Region 1-4A meet in Lubbock. All girls ran a two-mile race (3200 meters) on Monday while the boys ran a 3.1-mile race at regionals, or 5,000 meters.
