Sweetwaterâs cross country runners all went to a meet in Christoval to begin their season and also ran at the Angelo State meet held on Sept. 8.
At Christoval, the following individual times were recorded: Boys â Colton Scott 22:35.41; Brandon Howell 24:19.53; Girls â Ashley Bax 16:26.81; Madison Howard 17:46.59; Marissa Sanchez 18:14.18; Meagan Whitley 18:47.43; Addisyn Cleckler 19:22.41; Hannah Sanchez 22:04.18. Sweetwater was sixth as a team.
At Angelo State, the following individual times were recorded: Boys â Colton Scott 22:19.36; Brandon Howell 23:24.08; Girls â Ashley Bax 15:44.91; Madison Howard 16:25.96; Meagan Whitley 16:27.26; Marissa Sanchez 17:00.08; Addisyn Cleckler 17:37.23; Hannah Sanchez 20:32.69.
Sweetwater junior varsity volleyball results
Sweetwaterâs junior varsity volleyball team competed at Lamesaâs JV tournament Sept. 7-8 and earned cons0lation honors by winning their last two matches.
Sweetwater lost to Shallowater 25-14, 21-25, 21-25 but came back to defeat Levelland 24-26, 25-20, 25-21 and then beat Midland Greenwood 25-21, 25-19.
Sweetwater Middle School volleyball results
Sweetwater Middle Schoolâs volleyball teams hosted Big Spring to begin their season Aug. 30.
The eighth grade Red team won 25-11, 25-21; the eighth grade White team lost 22-25, 25-12, 18-25; the seventh grade Red team lost 20-25, 18-25; and the seventh grade White team lost 10-25, 11-25. In addition, the seventh and eighth grade âBâ teams on Sept. 8 hosted a tournament in Sweetwater. In seventh grade âBâ action, Sweetwater lost to Snyder 7-25, 13-25; lost to Lubbock Christian 17-25, 7-25; and lost to Brownwood 16-25, 25-20, 23-25. In eighth grade âBâ action, Sweetwater lost to Snyder 20-25, 8-25 and lost to Brownwood 19-25, 11-25 but defeated Lubbock Christian 25-23, 25-16.
The eighth grade âBâ team finished in a three-way tie for second place, according to coach Sandra Graham.
