Charles Bryan McCarley

May 27, 2014

BRONTE — Charles Bryan McCarley passed away on May 24, 2014 in a way only Charlie would have it. He just slipped away and as he passed the heavens opened up with a rain West Texans needed so badly he drifted off saying “Let’er Rain.”
Charlie was born Jan. 3, 1941 to Rhoda and Reese McCarley in San Angelo.
He is survived by his three sisters and brother-in-laws, Rita and Tommy Franks of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, Kay and Paul Gothard of Blackwell, TX, Penny and Dale McClellan of San Angelo, TX; four nephews and two nieces; eight great-nephews and four great-nieces along with a whole bunch of friends.
Viewing will be Monday, May 26, 2014 at the funeral home in Bronte. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Blackwell, officiated by Reverend Charles Casey. Interment will be in the family plot at Blackwell Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stevenson, Bronte Health and Rehab Center, Interim Hospice of San Angelo and all of his caregivers for the care given to Charlie during his last days.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Blackwell or the Bronte Health and Rehab Center.
Online condolences may be made to www.shafferpioneer.com.
