Funeral services for Charles D. Richburg, 79, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with his son, Lance Richburg and Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Richburg died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born May 11, 1933, in Loraine. He married Peggy Dunn on Dec. 30, 1955 in Hart, TX. He was a Lions Club member and a Volunteer Fireman in Roscoe. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the administrator of Sunday school. He loved to dance and he loved his wife and grandkids passionately. Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sons, Lance Richburg and wife Mandy of Sweetwater and Doug Richburg of Sweetwater; daughter, Billye Sue Richburg Hughes of Roscoe; sisters, Cindy Wilson and husband Dale of Fredericksburg and Margaret Vaughn of Abilene; grandchildren, Heather Schriber, Tommy Hughes, B.J. Hughes, Allie Hughes, Rachel Richburg, Dylan Richburg, Kaci Richburg, Emily Richburg, Molly Richburg, Kyndall Knapp, and Corbin Knapp; nine great-grandchildren; and girlfriend Carol Greenway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Richburg; parents; and brothers, Don Richburg and Jerry Richburg.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Hughes, Tommy Hughes, James Parrott, Allen Richburg, Charles Wilson and Donnie Horne.
