Charles Harlan Reeves 88, of Robinson passed away surrounded by his loving family Monday December 17, 2012. Services will be 1 PM Thursday, December 20, with a visitation from 11 am â€“ 1 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr., with Bishop Don Connell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Charles was born November 10, 1924 in Haskell TX to Robert and Sarah Reeves. He was a graduate of Haskell High School in 1943, and married the love of his life Marceal Whiteker on June 4, 1943. Charles joined Army Air Corp in June of 1943, training pilots during WW II. He graduated from Texas Tech with an agronomy degree, and went to work in Meridian TX for the soil conservation service, for 25 years. Charles then moved to Sweetwater TX continuing his work with soil conservation service until his retirement at the age of 55. He then began working for the U.S. Postal Service, delivering mail to the rural areas in Nolan County. He was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He also lived in Ruidoso New Mexico for a few years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Mike Reeves; brothers Cecil Reeves, Bill Reeves, and Truett Reeves.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Marceal Whiteker Reeves; sister, Mary Emma Schmuckers of El Paso; children Bob Reeves and wife Mary of Grapevine, and Patricia Summers and husband Jim of Hewitt; grandchildren Mark Buckingham of Red Oak, Brad Buckingham of China Spring, John Reeves of McKinney, and Dan Reeves of Bedford; great-grandchildren Desiree Buckingham Ramirez, Shaun Buckingham, Brad Allen Buckingham, Caeden Reeves, Landen Reeves, Preston Reeves, Mason Reeves, Ethan Reeves, Melanie and Emma Kirksey ; great-great-grandchildren Witten Ramirez; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Reeves.
