Cheryl Lynn Brown Hampton, 64, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in Arlington. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home on Davis Drive in Arlington. Cheryl was born June 30, 1947, in Roscoe, daughter of the late Bill L. and Justine Brown of Snyder. She married Don J. Hampton on June 12, 1965, and in the following years gave birth to two daughters, Kellie and Paige, and raised their family in Arlington. Cheryl's professional career began in the field of education where she taught high school level courses and later moved into private tutoring. After her husband, Don Hampton, passed away in 1991, she changed careers to enter into the residential real estate market by joining Ebby Halliday Realtors, and quickly earned accolades as "Rookie of the Year" in 1994. She later moved to RE/MAX Pinnacle Group, where she spent several productive years before returning to Ebby Halliday. She ranked in the top 10 percent of Tarrant County Realtors and the top 1 percent of Realtors in the United States, and was a member of the Ebby Halliday's Diamond Circle and a Star Producer, as well as holding the designation ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative). Cheryl lived life to the fullest. She was never one to hold back and always spoke her mind. She had a great love for her family and always put them first in her life. Her family was her pride and joy, from her daughters to all of her grandchildren who loved their Gram very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don J. Hampton; her parents, Bill L. and Justine Brown of Snyder; and her father in-law, Don L. Hampton of Sweetwater.
Survivors: She is survived by daughter, Paige Hampton Bick and her husband, John J. Bick, of Arlington and their children, Halle, Haiden and Kenedi Bick; daughter, Kellie Hampton Bick and her husband, Gregory L. Bick, of Midland and their children, John and Waren McLain, Peyton and Jacob Bick; aunts, Catherine Higgins and Faye Higgins, both of Snyder; mother-in-law, Sarah Hampton of Sweetwater; brother-in-law, Rannie Hampton, his wife, Norma, and their children, Barbara and Lauren, of Arlington; brothers-in-law, Tim Hampton of Sweetwater and Mark Hampton and wife, Jackie, of Sweetwater; nephew, Larson Hampton and wife, Brandi, of Weatherford, and children, Addison and Levi.
