Broadway Baptist Church
As the Thanksgiving testimonies began a little lady stood to speak. “It has been a difficult year. First my mother passed, then my husband was diagnosed with cancer, and I was laid off from my job.” As tears streamed down her face she continued, “My children caught pneumonia, our refrigerator broke and our land lord has given us 60 days to move.” The audience sat in silence. This was a “Thanksgiving” testimonial service, and people were suppose to be sharing their blessings. Finally, the pastor broke the silence with: “You know folks, sometimes life just stinks.” He continued, “...but even when it does, God’s Word encourages us with His mercy that endures forever.” As he spoke he reminded them that God’s love is a faithful love that is with us always.
Have you had a rough year? Have you found that sometimes “life stinks”? Just remember God’s mercy endures forever and according to Psalm 138:8: “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me...” This Thanksgiving take time to count your blessing and begin with the love of God that endures forever.
We have started a new Bible Club for our children called Wiseguys. It is not too late to join us. Wiseguys is an exciting program focused on scripture memory and teaching children Biblical truths in an enjoyable way. The visualized verses, musical choruses and character building stories are all centered on the character quality and definition for the month. We will meet every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. If you are interested in your child being in this program, please call us at 235-2730. We will be meeting in the church’s Education Building.
We want to personally invite you to come be with us this Sunday, Nov. 20, where we are loving God and loving people. Our Life Groups, which is for all ages, starts at 10 a.m. Our morning service is at 10:50 a.m., and our evening service begins at 6 p.m.

FAITH HARVEST PENTECOSTAL CHURCH
Faith Harvest Pentecostal Church would like to invite you to come join us in our celebration of Jesus Christ! We are located at 408 Alamo Street, which is right off of Sam Houston. Our service times are 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings, 6 p.m. on Sunday evenings and 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. We have Sunday school for adults, Out-of-Line Youth Ministry for teens, and Children’s Church for kids. We have recently began a new video series by Bishop T.D Jakes called Men’s Master Class. We will be showing the videos on the last Sunday night service of every month. We have already viewed two videos from the series and each one was very powerful! The next video is called “Fight Back” and will played on Sunday, Nov. 27, after our evening worship service. We would love for you to come and receive truth from these videos with us! Over the past few months, our church has been collecting shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. We were able to send 74 shoeboxes to children who otherwise wouldn’t have Christmas this year and who will receive the good news of salvation! As we draw closer to the holidays, our church is getting ready for several events. We will be having our baseball fellowship this Saturday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. at our church. If you don’t like baseball or are physically unable to play, no worries! There will be plenty of food and games as well. Our annual Thanksgiving lunch will be this Sunday, Nov. 20, after our morning service. We would love for you to join us in giving thanks to God for all that He has done in our lives! Now that the weather is cooling off, it’s a great time to come on out and join us as we all grow closer together in Christ. Don’t forget about our website, www.fhpcofsweetwater.com where we add something new everyday! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Pastor Jimmy Bennett at 325-242-4750 or Deacon Bobby Hoover at 325-236-4023
