Forming nearly four years ago in their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, The City Harmonic went from anonymity to widespread acclaim with their major hit “Manifesto,” headlining tours across North America and gathering numerous awards along the way.
The City Harmonic was honored at the 35th Annual GMA Canada Covenant Awards held in Burlington, Ontario, which was broadcast Saturday evening, Nov. 9, in which The City Harmonic took home two Covenant Awards in the categories of Group of the Year and Praise and Worship Song of the Year (for “Holy (Wedding Day)”) which they performed as the closing number for the awards show.
In addition to the above mentioned honors, the band also received a Dove Award nomination in 2012 for New Artist of the Year and a JUNO Award earlier this year for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year for their full length debut project “I Have A Dream (It Feels Like Home)”.
They are currently touring in support of their new, critically acclaimed album, Heart, with special guest Shawn McDonald, which is scheduled to come to a close this month. Before heading home to Ontario, the band will be making a stop in Sweetwater.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m., The City Harmonic will be performing once again at Emmanuel Fellowship Church, located at 1418 Hailey Street. The band’s first stop in Sweetwater was in April of 2011 at the height of their “Manifesto” release.
Tickets for the show are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. This concert performance is limited to a maximum of 250 attendees, so those needing tickets are encouraged to do so quickly, as it will most likely sell out. Tickets can be purchased at the church offices or online at www.efcsweetwater.com.
