City reads ordinance on tax rate

August 25, 2011

The City Commission held the first reading of the ordinance adopting the tax rate.

The City Commission met for a brief meeting on Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, 2011 at City Hall.
The only action item on the agenda was for the first reading of an Ordinance fixing and levying the rate of 48 cents per $100 valuation, which was approved to be adopted. Two public hearings were held on the matter before today's action, and it was noted that the tax rate has seen no change in the past six years.
The final reading will now take place at the next city meeting slated for Tuesday morning, Sept. 13.
