A Legislative Update Workshop was held Wednesday, June 19 at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex in Sweetwater. Cline Shale Alliance members, as well as non-members, were invited to hear from industry leaders and elected officials on the latest from the 83rd session of the Texas Legislature and pending issues in Washington.
Energy, industrial and community readiness in the Cline Shale Region will be affected by the actions of the Texas Legislature in energy, transportation, infrastructure, water, workforce and education. Luke Legate, with the Joint Association Oil and Natural Gas Education Initiative, was the main speaker at the workshop, as well as a representative from the Texas Agriculture Department.
Members and non-members were also invited to actively discuss the issues and future strategies, as well as network their businesses. Mayor Greg Wortham presided over the workshop and led discussions, answering questions when needed.
