Contracts approved at county meeting

August 15, 2013

Two contracts were considered for approval during Monday’s meeting of the Nolan County Commissioners.
A contract was approved with Lexis Nexis for access to their legal research data for the County Attorney’s office. The commissioners were presented with the information prior to the meeting by county attorney Lisa Peterson, who stated that the access is the most cost-effective route among three options.
In addition, the annual contract between Nolan County and West Texas Centers for purchase of mental health services was approved. No changes were cited between last year’s and this year’s contract.
The no plan change to the TCDRS (Texas County & District Retirement System) 2014 retirement system plan for Nolan County was also approved during the meeting. While the current match rate is set at 10.22%, an increase will seen, as the new match total will be 10.85%.
Furthermore, bids were opened for the Nolan County Coliseum roof from three companies--CMG Construction, Lydick Hooks and Parsons Commercial Roofing, in which the latter company also included a bid for the coliseum foyer. The bids were officially received by the commissioners, but will be reviewed before any action is taken.
