In the article from yesterday's paper stating the primary election results, I incorrectly noted that Jerry D. Hulcy earned the Nolan County Commissioner Precinct 1 seat. While he did in fact earn more votes in comparison to current commissioner Terry Willman (118 to 73 votes), this was only a primary election. This race will officially be determined following the November elections. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused to the readers and those involved in the election.

You cannot compare the raw data like that. Republicans could only vote for the Republican candidate and Democrats could only vote for the Democrat candidate. That is how a primary works. To see how they fared you must look at the percentages. Democrat Terry Willman gained 83% of his party vote and Republican Jerry Hulcy gained 62% of his party vote.
Thank you!
