County burn ban lifted

Following the significant amount of rain received in the area, the Nolan County Commissioners gave approval to lift the county-wide burn ban during their meeting held on Monday morning.
Also during the meeting, a contract between Elliott Air Conditioning and the county was approved, in which no changes were cited. Approval was also given for the county to continue its participation in the TAC (Texas Association of Counties) County Choice Retiree medical program.
In addition, the resignations of Nathan Ehlert and Jason Jones from the Nolan County Coliseum board were approved, in which it was noted that their resignations stemmed from the fact that their time schedules prohibited their full participation on the board. However, the appointment of Tom Rees to the Nolan County Coliseum board was approved, which will help fill one of the vacancies.
Furthermore, an agreement with Davis Kinard and Company PC to perform the Nolan County audit for the 2012-2013 year was approved, while approval was given toward the proposal from Melinda Brown to prepare the annual financial report for Nolan County's 2012-2013 fiscal year as well. Both entities have assisted the county in their respective manners for the past few years.
Also, the County Auditor was given authorization to pay claims through the September 30, 2013 fiscal year end, under the provision that there are funds left in the line item. Additional approval was given to set the date and time for the commissioners' court meetings for 2014 on the second and fourth Mondays at 9 a.m. in the Nolan County courtroom, located on the first floor of the Courthouse.
