County burn ban reinstated

January 29, 2013

Recap of the county commissioners' meeting held on Monday morning at the Nolan County Courthouse

After a two-week time frame, the Nolan County Commissioners approved to reinstate the burn ban for the county at their meeting on Monday morning.
Collectively, the commissioners determined that the land throughout the county was not looking as "green" due to the lack of precipitation. The reinstatement will stand until the next meeting date, when the item will be considered once again by the commissioners.
Approval was also given for John Gray to be appointed to the county-city Airport Zoning Board. He will be replacing Sandra Osborne Lecroy, whose term expires at the end of February this year.
In addition, the minutes of the January 14 meeting were approved. Reports were received from the Nolan County Tax Office, Sheriff's Office, Treasurer, Veterans Service Office, Welfare Office and the Extension Office as well.
