County burn ban reinstated at meeting

At the Monday morning meeting of the Nolan County Commissioners, discussion was held on a time capsule for the Nolan County Courthouse.
Precinct 3 Commissioner Tommy White explained that they have been thinking about this project for some time. In order to fill the capsule, citizens are encouraged to bring a small item, such as a coin or business card.
Items can be brought now up until February 28 to Jerry Hunt in the County Judge's office. The size of the time capsule will depend on how many items are submitted.
Also during the meeting, approval given to reinstate the burn ban for Nolan County, which will be up for consideration at the next meeting. A $5,000 bond for Nolan County Auditor Judy Kaspar was approved as well.
Two spots on the County Airport Zoning Board were additionally approved. Jay Neal was re-appointed as the joint representative, while Ray Adames will fill the seat vacated by Ken Lofton.
The minutes of the December 31 and January 9 meetings were approved, while reports were received from the Nolan County Treasurer, Auditor, Welfare Office and Government Trapper.
