Crosson receives FCA spirit award

June 10, 2013

Kelsi Crosson received the John Riddlehoover Memorial Spirit Award on Saturday, when she and two other ex-Sweetwater High School teammates played in the inaugural Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival volleyball match at Abilene Wylie High School.
The award is given to a player and cheerleader who exemplifies courage, sacrifice and selflessness as voted on by the all-stars.
Crosson, Shelby Cason and Suede Shirley and as-sistant coach Liz Miller rep-resented Sweetwater on the North team, which fell to the South in a tight three-game match by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-27. Three other SHS exes — Tadeo Canon-Masjoan, Ryan Linebaugh and Nick Nemir — were on the North team which won the football all-star game at Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium 27-14 on Saturday night, along with former Roscoe Collegiate football player Landon Jones.
Sweetwater was also represented at this year’s Myrle Greathouse All-Star Classic by North assistant coach Shane Mobley.
