Daphene “Gee Gee” (Kinser) Moore

ROBY-Daphene “Gee Gee” (Kinser) Moore, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Roby. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Santa Anna, TX, Daphene was a daughter of the late Lambert Charles and Fannie (Maxey) Kinser. Daphene was raised in Sweetwater and moved to Roby when she married Hue Dorsey Moore on Nov. 6, 1941 in Roby. She was a homemaker and liked to sew, paint and garden. Daphene was also active in raising money for cancer aid and research through the VFW. Daphene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roby.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and five sisters.
Daphene is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mickey Murchison of Thorndale, TX, Huelane and Roland Ray of Roby, Sandra “Sano” and Jerry Upshaw of Roby and Sharon “Bambi” and Vollie Shipp of Fluvanna, TX; one sister and brother-in-law, Lurlea and Jim Morris of Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
